- Hollow drive
- 48.5 mm clear bore
- High torque
- No bellows or dynamic seals
- Bakeable to 250°C
- Zero-backlash under low load
The MD64LB is a larger version of the MD35LB drive and has a larger clear bore of 48.5mm. Whereas the standard MD64H has a fixed CF35 rear flange, the MD64LB has a CF64 rear flange to accommodate the larger through bore and the flange is also rotatable. As such this manipulator is ideal for applications requiring larger diameter multiple services to be passed through the drive, to facilitate for example, addition motions, electrical connections for sample heating or measurement, pipes for cooling etc.. The rotatable rear flange provides for greater flexibility when mounting additional devices to the rear of the drive in spatially constrained situations, as that device can be mounted in any angular orientation. The drives can be stacked to provide multiple co-axial driven shafts through a single CF64 port, and given that both the mounting and rear flanges are the same size, the drives can be stacked one atop another infinitely in principal (limited only by the shaft diameters).
The usual range of drive options is available from manual actuation, through various pneumatic and motor driven configurations.
In these configurations limit and home switches can also be provided including and ingenious ‘over 360o ‘ option, to get slightly more than one full rotation.
