Linear Shift Mechanisms (Linear translators)

Introduction

UHV Performance

Linear shift mechanisms (linear translators) provide linear Z motion within a vacuum system. Typical applications include the adjustment of sputter sources, surface science instruments and deposition stages. Bakeable to 250ºC, the range is supplied on CF flanges and provides true UHV performance.

The bellows sealed Linear Shift Mechanisms provide kinematic motion via an external leadscrew mechanism, complete with anti-rotation and anti-deflection systems.  This design ensures smooth and precise motion along the Z axis. The range has a high load capability ensured through its rigid construction.

Product Selection

Edge-welded bellows

The range consists of five standard series to suit the majority of applications.   Please 'click' the series of interest (below) to view specifications, options and dimensional drawings.

Bellows are manufactured as standard from 316L stainless steel and offer a minimum design life of 10,000 cycles. Customised units are available, offering a design life of up to 1 million cycles.
