UHV Linear/Rotary PowerProbes - PP

The PowerProbe is a dual axis translator, allowing both linear and rotary motion of the sample. The high torque characteristics are achieved by installing a MagiDrive rotary coupling in tandem with the Linear PowerProbe linear coupling. 

This ensures optimum drive performance on both axes. Therefore, actuation of the external drive carriage in either axis will result in the precise translation of this motion to the sample. The Power Probe can be fitted with a bakeable limit switch for the retracted position.

Maximum recommended internally applied load when vertically installed This is a function of the load acceleration. In a static case the load may approach the coupling breakaway force, however, using a safety factor of 5 the coupling would tolerate:
Not suitable for vertical mounting 36N (8lbf) with moderate accelerations 62N (14lbf) with moderate accelerations

Professional transfer tool part numbers are configured in three sections as shown bellow.  Codes for 'series' and 'actuation' options are listed to the right.

PowerProbe - standard power PP35
PowerProbe - high power PPH35
Series Stoke in mm Actuation method PowerProbe long travel - standard power PP64

Actuation Method

For example an PP35-304 -H would select the PowerProbe with 304mm (12") stroke and manual actuation.

The PowerProbe is only available with manual actuation.
